Reflex type level gauge uses glass that has several grooves carved into one side.These grooves reflect light due to the prism effect, but the refractive rate of light differs between the gas phase and the liquid phase. The light from the gas phase is reflected and returned to the observer’s eye. On the other hand, the light from the liquid phase proceeds inside the level gauge. As a result, the gas phase looks bright, while the gas phase looks dark. This is a principle of reflex type level gauge. Reflex types are not suitable for alkaline liquid because mica plate cannot be attached on the surface of prasmatic serration. *NIHON KLINGAGE has developed Alkline resistant glass named LUKING-AR refering to Glass Products page.
